ResponsibilitiesDesign & Documentation:
Prepare scoping documents and conceptual design reviews. Prepare I&C design deliverables, such as P&IDs, instrument layouts, control philosophy / narratives, communication drawings, logic diagrams, and master IO lists / indexes. Create and review detailed designs for instrument installation / mounting, HMIs, PLC ladder logic, security, hazardous area classifications, etc.
Procurement & Vendor Coordination:
Develop and review equipment procurement specifications. Support vendor bid evaluations and manage Q&A tracking.
Collaboration & Client Interface:
Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams. Interface with clients and support implementation personnel.
Site Support:
Travel to client/vendor offices and plant sites for design reviews and construction coordination.
Education & Certification:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program. Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain.
Experience:
7–10+ years of experience in I&C engineering design for industrial applications or nuclear power plants. Extensive background in commercial nuclear and DOE nuclear design projects is preferred.
Technical Expertise:
Experienced in preparing and reviewing specifications, procurement documents, and engineering design packages. Knowledgeable in ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes and engineering design principles (e.g., GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, interference checks). Familiar with P&, PFD, and general arrangement drawings for skid-mounted or permanent equipment packages. Competent in lighting, communications, and security systems design.
Soft Skills & Work Ethic:
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing error-free documentation. Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrates initiative in identifying and resolving engineering challenges.

Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
Compensation
$127,000/yr - $133,000/yr (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
