Reliability Engineer (RE)

Spectra Tech, Inc. is hiring for a Reliability Engineer (RE) in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Spectra Tech, Inc. is seeking a Reliability Engineer to optimize asset performance across production, engineering, projects, and maintenance—reducing downtime and failure rates while increasing equipment reliability. You'll provide recommendations and technical expertise that enhance equipment design, reliability, and maintainability, and lead proactive maintenance strategies and RAMI/RCM analyses.

• Serve as the strategic interface supporting Production, Operations, Infrastructure Management, and Craft personnel with reliability-based technical guidance.
• Define and support implementation of recommendations that improve reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, and safety/security systems.
• Gather, review, and analyze RAMI data (reliability, availability, maintainability, inspectability) for systems and facilities; review manuals, data sheets, and technical basis docs.
• Lead integration of project and plant RAMI deliverables; develop proactive maintenance strategies for structures, systems, and components.
• Perform failure mode identification and root-cause failure analysis; conduct trend analysis of critical assets.
• Define, develop, implement, revise, and monitor Asset Management Plans; deploy condition-based/predictive and other NDT methodologies to surface issues before failure.
• Complete and present RAMI and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) analyses, including labor distributions, critical spares, proactive plans, failure rates (MTBF/MTTR), and life-cycle cost analysis.

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering or physical-science discipline from an ABET-accredited program.
• Must meet DOE O 426.2 qualification requirements (Baccalaureate in Engineering/Related Science, 2 years job-related experience, and 1 year nuclear experience, or DOE-approved alternative).

  426.2 experience may be satisfied after hire; in the interim, no duties impacting the safety basis of nuclear facilities will be assigned.

• BS + 5+ years of Reliability Engineering experience or MS + 2+ years of Reliability Engineering experience.
• MUST have the ability to obtain a Q Clearance and HRP
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively; strong interpersonal skills; effective oral/written communication.
• Site-wide collaboration skills; proven problem-solving/analytical ability; capacity to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
