Job Description
Under direct supervision, helps ensure a safe and healthy work environment through the administration of the Industrial Safety Program. Working with management, provides daily guidance to plant personnel and contractors to ensure Industrial Safety compliance.
What You Will Do:
- Establishes and maintains a working relationship with personnel to identify, evaluate and control potential hazards in the workplace
- Coordinates with other organizational personnel to ensure all procedures include appropriate Industrial Safety guidance
- Assists with inspections, analysis and evaluation of planned work, plant facilities, contractor activities, materials, equipment, and other conditions to determine the accident potential
- Assists in the implementation and maintenance of Industrial Safety related training plans, modules, self-study guides and testing materials as necessary; coordinates resources necessary to conduct and document training
- Preparation of materials for safety meetings; may prepare and disseminate Industrial Safety related written bulletins
- Assists in performance of Industrial Safety program assessments, performance of accident/ incident investigations and preparation/submittal of required reports
- Performs OSHA Recordkeeping and injury/illness statistics/reporting
- Applies state and federal regulations in day-day oversight
- Responsible for site industrial safety compliance, and has full "stop work" authority for any activity that violates or has a probability of violating these requirements
- Participates in projects as assigned
- Performs other Regulatory related duties as assigned
We'd Love to Hear from People With:
- Possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" level security clearance.
- Associates degree in Industrial/Occupational Safety, Biological/ Physical Sciences, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
- Zero to two (0-2) years of experience in Safety and Health or a related field
A Successful Candidate Brings:
- B.S. Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field with Six (6) or more years of experience
- Certified Safety Professional® (CSP®) or equivalent certification
