Job Description & How to Apply Below

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Project Controls/Scheduling Specialist opportunity in Oak Ridge, TN.

Position Overview

The Project Controls/Scheduling Specialist will serve as the authoritative lead for schedule development, critical-path analysis, baseline management, and performance forecasting across high-value enrichment programs. You will independently establish, maintain, and integrate complex resource-loaded schedules that support multi-million- to multi-billion-dollar initiatives spanning design, experimental testing, construction, manufacturing readiness, and operational deployment. This position requires mastery of Primavera P6, expertise in DOE nuclear-capital scheduling standards, and the ability to influence program strategy through precise, data-driven visibility into schedule risks, constraints, and performance trends.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, update, and manage highly detailed, resource-loaded schedules covering development, experimental, construction, and operational phases for all Enrichment Operations projects.
  • Build and maintain integrated master schedules using Primavera P6, applying DOE, EVMS, and capital-program scheduling requirements.
  • Serve as the scheduling subject‑matter authority, independently owning schedule baseline creation, integration, and maintenance for complex technical programs.
  • Collaborate directly with project managers, engineering, operations, maintenance, supply chain, safety, environmental, and security teams to collect schedule inputs, validate logic, and resolve constraint conflicts.
  • Perform critical-path analysis, identify trends, forecast performance, and recommend schedule or execution-strategy adjustments to prevent variance growth.
  • Create routine and ad hoc schedule reports, including dashboards, SPI/CPI metrics, schedule forecasts, and at‑completion projections for leadership.
  • Conduct schedule-impact assessments, scenario modeling, procurement alignment reviews, and execution-sequencing analyses to support risk management.
  • Ensure strict compliance with DOE scheduling requirements, internal controls, change-management processes, and configuration-control practices.
  • Implement automation, data-pipeline improvements, and digital workflow enhancements to increase schedule integrity and reduce reporting cycle time.
  • Participate in project reviews, design coordination sessions, constructability assessments, and implementation planning meetings as the scheduling authority.
  • Champion continuous improvement across scheduling processes, tools, standards, automation, and digital capabilities.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, business, engineering, construction management, or a related discipline (equivalent experience may be considered).
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in project scheduling, project controls, earned-value management, or cost/schedule integration within DOE, nuclear, industrial, or other highly technical environments.
  • Mastery of Primavera P6, critical-path methodology, resource loading, and development of Level 1–5 schedules.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage integrated cost/schedule baselines for large, complex programs in the multi-hundred-million- to multi-billion-dollar range.
  • Strong ability to interpret technical engineering inputs, coordinate multi-discipline logic, and support field-level construction or execution schedules.
  • Proven analytical skills with a track record of identifying risks early, diagnosing trends, and providing corrective or preventive recommendations.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across engineering, operations, regulatory, and program leadership.
  • Experience implementing automation tools, utilities, or AI-assisted workflow enhancements for scheduling or reporting.
