Senior Structural Engineer
Required Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university. 10+ years of structural engineering experience. Experience developing engineering design packages from concept through construction support. Strong background in structural steel and reinforced concrete design. Experience performing structural calculations, building evaluations, equipment anchorage, and structural modifications. Familiarity with seismic analysis and rehabilitation projects. Experience producing or reviewing structural drawings, specifications, reports, and engineering documentation.
Knowledge of industry structural engineering codes and standards. Strong communication skills and ability to work with project teams, operations personnel, construction teams, and clients. Willingness to perform plant walkdowns and work in a production environment.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience Active Professional Engineer (PE) license. DOE, nuclear, industrial manufacturing, or other highly regulated industry experience. STAAD.Pro structural modeling experience. CAD drafting experience. 3D structural modeling experience. Experience overseeing external engineering firms and multidisciplinary engineering projects.
Job Description Our client is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to support facility and capital project work within a complex industrial environment. This individual will be responsible for developing detailed engineering design packages, supporting procurement and construction activities, performing structural assessments, and providing technical expertise for facility modifications and upgrades. Responsibilities include structural steel and concrete design, seismic evaluations, machine installations, equipment anchorage design, construction support, and engineering troubleshooting.
The engineer will also lead project planning and execution activities, including scope development, cost estimating, schedules, design reviews, calculations, drawing development, change control, contractor oversight, and field verification. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, the ability to self-perform engineering analyses, and experience leading multidisciplinary engineering efforts
