Mid-Level Piping Engineer

• Perform hydraulic, equipment sizing, stress analysis, pressure relief, and standard pipe support calculations
• Generate piping specifications in accordance with ANSI B31.3 and ANSI B31.9
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to plan work and provide pressure piping system designs and associated equipment
• Perform constructability reviews on drawing packages and at site locations
• Select pipe supports for metal and plastic piping from catalog supports and design engineered supports when required
• Generate piping insulation and painting specifications
• Perform piping safety reviews
• Assist in developing General Arrangement Drawings
• Perform occasional travel and field work near construction job-site equipment and hazardous machinery

• Bachelor of Science (BS) or higher in Mechanical Engineering
• 5 years of engineering experience (Preferred)
• Less than 10% travel
• USA citizenship
• General computer skills:
  Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office tools
• Technical computer experience with PIPE-FLO, Caesar II, AFT Arrow, and AFT Fathom (preferred)
• Engineering technical writing
• Candidates local to Oak Ridge, TN preferred; non-local candidates may apply, with intermittent travel to the office potentially required but not mandatory
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to work in a team atmosphere
• Must pass a pre-employment drug and background check
• Ability to perform the listed physical and environmental essential functions, including lifting up to 20 lbs., field work, and exposure to construction equipment, hazardous machinery, uneven ground, dust, gas, fumes, noise, temperature/humidity extremes, and heights

Demonstrates expertise in hydraulic and piping system design, including equipment sizing, stress analysis, and compliance with ANSI standards. Proficient in technical writing and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective project execution.
