Senior Plant Designer

• Develop piping systems and equipment layouts in Smart Plant 3D or similar BIM design tools
• Develop General Equipment Arrangement deliverables
• Understand schedules and budgets of the Plant Design and Piping Team
• Assist with resolving interferences and developing resolutions
• Ensure proper integration with BIM tools such as Intelligent Schematics
• Work with Piping Engineering on pipe specifications and stress analysis support locations
• Work with Structural Engineering on pipe support designs
• Manage model outputs for material lists and reports
• Work with Civil Engineering on underground interface connections
• Perform field-related work around construction job site equipment and hazardous machinery as required
• Use a standard office PC with provided software

• AS Degree or Higher
• 14+ years using BIM tools for Plant Design
• Chemical process industrial mechanical/piping design experience
• Nuclear piping design experience is preferred
• Candidates local to Oak Ridge, TN are preferred; candidates with applicable experience and qualifications local to Oak Ridge, TN are encouraged to apply while considering additional travel requirements
• U.S. Citizenship required
• Valid driver's license required

• Ability to perform the listed physical and field-work functions, including lifting up to 20 lbs., occasional travel, working near construction equipment and hazardous machinery, walking on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas, fumes, noise, temperature/humidity extremes, and potential work at heights

Demonstrates expertise in developing piping systems and equipment layouts using BIM tools, with a strong focus on collaboration with engineering teams and adherence to project schedules and budgets. Possesses extensive experience in chemical process industrial mechanical/piping design, including nuclear piping design.
