Orano USA is a leading supplier of nuclear fuel cycle solutions supporting the United States' nuclear energy mission and advanced reactor deployment.

Project IKE is Orano USA's multibillion dollar uranium enrichment facility under development in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, one of the largest private investments in the state's history.

The Engineering Intern is a paid internship offering hands-on experience working on real engineering projects, developing technical skills, and collaborating with experienced engineers.

• Assist in the design, development, and testing of engineering solutions.
• Conduct research and analysis to support engineering projects.
• Create and review technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
• Participate in design reviews and technical meetings.
• Perform calculations, simulations, and modeling as needed.
• Support prototype development and testing activities.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and propose solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project deliverables.

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (mechanical, civil, electrical, chemical, industrial, or related field).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, Solid Works, CATIA, etc.).
• Familiarity with simulation tools (MATLAB, ANSYS, etc.).
• Previous internship or project experience in engineering.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Programming skills (Python, C++, etc.).
• French language proficiency is a plus given Orano's French & American operational context.
• Demonstrated interest in nuclear energy, domestic energy policy, or large-scale capital project development.
• A considerable amount of creativity and initiative is expected.

Orano's activities in the U.S. include developing uranium enrichment facility in Oak Ridge, TN ; packages and transportation of uranium & nuclear fuel assemblies ; fabricating & installing used nuclear fuel dry storage canisters and casks, conducting pool-to-pad used nuclear fuel transfers ; providing solutions to the National Labs and to the Dept of Energy ; and supplying U.S. nuclear energy utilities with uranium, conversion, and enrichment services.

In the nuclear medicine field, Orano Med is at the forefront of research in nuclear medicine and is developing a new generation of targeted therapies against cancer using the unique properties of lead-212.
