As the primary financial lead for costing/planning rates, the individual will be required to work closely with different department/divisions inside and outside the resident department. Interactions will be at multiple levels of the organization within CNS, as well as with external customers (such as NNSA NPO). Secondary support includes the development and maintenance of key financial systems/databases/reports within the department. Responsibilities include the following:
- Oversee the development and management of all CNS site overhead rates.
- Track indirect pool costs and base performance for all CNS site overhead rates.
- Conduct detailed rate variance analysis monthly by evaluating pool and base performance.
- Identify rate variance drivers and offer alternatives/mitigation strategies for managing variance balances.
- Develop accurate forecast rates to provide financial stability to all CNS programs/organizations.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis, database maintenance, programming, financial dashboard development, troubleshooting, and what-if scenarios as required.
- Using statistical methodologies, collect, interpret, and analyze information.
- Demonstrate strong communication and up-to-date analytical skills (essential skill; see Requirements Section below).
Primary support includes:
- Budget planning
- Cost analysis, monitoring, and reporting
- Performing rate variance analysis for different costing/planning rates
The individual ensures:
- Timely and effective communication and coordination within the FBO Division on a variety of financial issues
- Accurate reporting of rates, cost, budget, and funding for all areas of the CNS financial structure
- Assignments are completed on schedule through effective time management
- Compliance with all applicable external and internal rules, regulations, and procedures
- Documentation is maintained in configuration control of all financial information
- Identification and implementation of solutions for financial issues within work group are being supported
