- Comply and enforce all duties and responsibilities of BESCO Safety program.
- Coordinate and attend all necessary Safety Team Meetings.
- Attend any Safety Meetings called for by the Y-12 facility.
- Coordinate all recordable incident report meetings with BESCO Safety Management.
- Ensure all crews receive Toolbox Topic meetings every Monday morning and maintain the archives of signed copies for future reference and track who is delinquent in returning copies to file.
- Oversee all training to field employees is (if not personally) given, including without limitation, OSHA 10, 30, new hire orientations, CPR/First Aid, PPE, Fall Protection, Hazard Communication, BBP, Lock Out - Tag Out, Pole top Rescue, Bucket Rescue etc. It will be your responsibility to research and coordinate the prerequisite classes or courses that will allow you to teach these classes.
- Maintain our PPE and manage the proper replacement of any old or damaged pieces, as requested by Management.
- Ensure BESCO Corporate Safety Program compliance by conducting minimum of 3 weekly audits.
- Ensure all incidents are investigated and reported.
- Research and develop all Job Safety Analysis, Pre-Task Planning, and Activity Hazard Awareness paperwork that may be needed to complete daily work activities.
- Enforce BESCO Safety Policies and Procedures on BESCO work sites.
- Assist in the coordination of Shut Down work schedules to maximize efficiency and safety.
- Participates in new process reviews, including process hazard analyses, operator training, etc.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state occupational safety and health regulations and monitors regulatory changes as they occur.
- Monitors lost-time injuries/illnesses and worker’s compensation claims.
- Reviews injury/illness and non-injury incident investigation reports and follows up as necessary.
- 4 year degree in ES&H or 13 years of related field safety experience
- OSHA 30 or higher
- 3-5 years construction safety experience
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
- Ability to stand, walk and possess endurance and ability to visit entire job site.
- Ability to work more than 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week as needed.
- Ability to climb ladders and steps and be able to stand, balance, sit, stoop, kneel crouch, or crawl.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions at job sites.
