X-Ray Technologist – PRN – Overview
At Fast Pace Urgent Care, X-Ray Techs provide clinical and administrative support essential for effective patient care under the direct supervision of a Provider, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. They provide outstanding patient service, maintaining a compassionate and welcoming atmosphere and respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment in addition to imaging. The X-Ray Tech will provide effective customer service for all internal and external customers by using excellent, in-depth knowledge as well as communicating effectively with team members.

- Ability to fulfill all responsibilities of Nurse/Clinical Tech and Patient Care Specialist position as detailed in the specific job description.
- The ability to deliver clinical and administrative support for the team and adhere to all policies and procedures.
- Monitor and track X-ray orders so they can be completed and submitted in a timely manner.
- Assist patient with proper positioning during the exam to ensure diagnostic quality.
- Ensure that activities are conducted consistently with department expectations and comply with federal and state regulations, guidelines, and requirements including HIPAA.
- Review exam images for initial read by provider.
- Send final images to Radiology group for over‑read.
- Correctly label laterality of all images by the use of initialed lead marker.
- Confirm that no removable artifacts are in the anatomy requested, and ensure the proper technique ("S" number) is used appropriate for the exam. Any artifacts appearing must be noted in the history.
- Address minor maintenance issues with machines; follow up with nurse coordinator (or Clinic Director) for consultation before outsourcing calls.
- Monitor condition of cassettes and other equipment; submit problems to Imaging Director promptly. Clean cassettes, chest bucky, and exam table after each use.
- Maintain and distribute pregnancy waiver forms where applicable.
- Triage patients by checking vitals, collecting pertinent clinical history, and other information for charting. Perform blood draws, give injections, administer oral medications, and perform other basic nursing tasks when not directly in the course of a radiographic exam (if applicable).
- Monitors and reads X‑Ray badge monthly.
- Wear radiation monitoring badges at all times in the X‑Ray room and maintain reporting.
- Complete mandatory compliance training.
- Welcome new employees on first day, facilitate introductions, tours, and clinic process overview.
- Assist new employees with training and provide job shadowing, demonstration, and coaching.
- Maintain friendly and cordial relations with all employees and clients; foster a positive work atmosphere.
- Perform physical, sensory, cognitive, and environmental functions as specified on the physical demands.
- Adhere to company standards of operations and core values of teamwork, communication, empowerment, quality of care, and friendliness.
- Current ARRT License (Registered Technologist) or State License (Registered Technologist or Limited Scope). License must be active, in good standing, and verifiable.
- TB and IV Certification required within 60 days of employment and maintained.
