What You'll DoThe Records Analyst is responsible for managing, organizing, and ensuring the security of an organization's records, both paper and electronic, while adhering to legal and regulatory requirements. In addition, this position:
- Interfaces with organizations across the Y-12 site to establish records series to group like records under an appropriate records schedule, ensure awareness of federal requirements for managing records generated as a result of contract related work, and guide the site into transitioning to electronic records processing utilizing approved repositories, such as Versatile/Electronic Records Management System (ERMS) and SAP Document Management System (DMS).
- Assists records operations and others in digitization/scanning projects and initiatives.
- Performs data analysis and mapping of metadata in the ERMS.
- Interprets federal records retention requirements utilizing the Federal Records tools to determine records life cycle of both physical and electronic records.
- Supports the company's Software Quality Assurance process as a subject matter expert in records.
- Works both independently and with other records professionals, site personnel, and DOE/NNSA representatives on records-related activities and initiatives with particular emphasis on digitization/scanning.
- Under minimum supervision, researches and interprets applicable DOE orders, regulations, and standards to identify mandatory records requirements.
- Assists with functional related assessments and evaluations for compliance, and gathers and interprets data for the purpose of process improvement.
- Teams with other records analysts to develop and author records management related procedures, guidance, and training.
- Prepares and delivers functional related training, to include digitization/scanning processes to internal and occasionally external organizations and customers.
- Prepares a variety of written summaries, documents, and reports relative to digitization/scanning projects, electronic records management, and general records management activities.
- Participates in the development and implementation of new methods and/or processes as a member on special records management initiative project teams as required.
- Establishes, monitors, and maintains metrics for digitization/scanning projects.

No experience. - OR Eight or more years of relevant education, experience, and/or progressive training may be considered to satisfy educational and years of experience for this posting.
Job Requirements
- Demonstrated understanding and application of records management requirements and governing flow-down documents, digitization/scanning processes, digitization/scanning hardware, and digitization/scanning software applications.
- Working knowledge of electronic records management technologies and applications.
- Demonstrated competency in both oral and written communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated experience developing professional relationships and working in a team and customer service environment to achieve and affect successful completion of job assignments in support of the company mission.
- Good working knowledge and understanding of the company business and operations support, processes, policies, and procedures, or equivalent transferrable skills.
- Familiarity with classified information and document handling requirements with both physical documents/records and classified information systems.
- Skilled in the use of various office computer software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Electronic Database Management Systems (EDMS) desired.
