IT Manager II

Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS) is actively seeking individuals who can contribute to national security within the project management and business services fields as part of our staff augmentation team. Successful candidates will be employees of AIS, a premier government contractor that employs highly motivated and well-qualified personnel to advance missions in Oak Ridge, TN. Pay, benefits, HR, and employment management functions are provided by AIS.

Qualified applicants must be a U.S. Citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre‑employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy any clearance requirements.

• Develop short- and/or long‑range IT program plans consistent with the information needs and priorities of the functional group.
• Develop and initiate programs that support functions and strategies of IT and the organization.
• Perform the personnel management functions required to develop and maintain a qualified and motivated staff.
• Report, to Sr. IT Director, the status of programs and support activities.
• Provide consultation and support to project groups and users in operating systems.
• Budget/financial accountability for functional area. Assure adherence to company standards and policies.
• Manage an Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) function or project in a global business unit or function/service organization.
• Develop and support functional work objectives and work processes and create plans consistent with IS&T strategy, policies and procedures.
• Recognize and pursue strategic opportunities for IS&T technology to reduce costs and/or improve business success.
• Integrate business processes and technology solutions for the enterprise. Identify and develop business opportunities that affect and improve productivity and competitiveness.
• Lead organizational change to meet IS&T's strategic goals and objectives.
• Develop business cases and proposals regarding IS&T products and services and ensure that these products and services are of the highest quality and are delivered to the customer in a timely fashion.
• Gather metrics and monitor the operation’s/project’s performance and take corrective action as needed.
• Demonstrate strategic thinking and decision‑making skills and solve complex organizational and/or technical problems within scope of authority.

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• 15+ years of experience in Information Technology.
• Extensive and proven experience in Information Technology management.

• Pre‑employment drug screen – external applicants selected for this position are required to successfully complete a post‑offer, pre‑employment drug test.
• Medical exam(s) – job‑related pre‑placement medical examinations may be required for this position.
• This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance. If determined as such, this position would be identified as a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position. WSAP positions require participation in an ongoing random drug testing program in addition to the pre‑employment drug screen.
