Standard Nuclear is fueling America’s nuclear renaissance at industrial scale. Our mission is to deliver the essential building blocks of nuclear power—enabling cost-effective, safe, and secure energy for the world.

The Supply Chain Engineer supports Standard Nuclear’s manufacturing and engineering organizations by translating technical requirements into executable sourcing, material planning, and logistics strategies. This role identifies qualified vendors, components, materials, and equipment that meet engineering specifications while ensuring cost, quality, lead time, and delivery requirements are understood and managed.

This is a hands-on cross-functional role that works closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, operations, and suppliers to maintain accurate bills of materials, resolve supply constraints, improve delivery performance, and build scalable supply chain processes. The Supply Chain Engineer combines technical understanding with supplier management and operational execution to support reliable production and continued growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES Engineering Requirements & Technical Sourcing
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and technical requirements to determine sourcing needs.
  • Identify, evaluate, and source vendors, components, materials, and equipment that meet technical, quality, schedule, and commercial requirements.
  • Partner with engineering and quality teams to support supplier qualification, technical evaluations, substitutions, and make-or-buy decisions.
BOM & Material Planning
  • Develop, maintain, and improve bills of materials (BOMs), item data, sourcing status, and material requirements supporting production and engineering programs.
  • Track point-to-point delivery of critical materials and equipment from supplier commitment through receipt at Standard Nuclear.
  • Identify long-lead, high-risk, or critical-path items early and develop plans to maintain material readiness.
  • Drive cost reduction and lead-time improvement opportunities across the bill of materials without compromising technical or quality requirements.
  • Evaluate supplier quotations, cost drivers, commercial terms, and sourcing alternatives to support informed procurement decisions.
  • Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for standardization, alternate sourcing, volume leverage, and improved delivery performance.
Supply Risk & Issue Resolution
  • Identify and resolve supply issues including vendor delays, logistics constraints, material shortages, quality concerns, and changing engineering requirements.
  • Develop mitigation and recovery plans for supply risks that could affect manufacturing schedules, project milestones, or operational continuity.
  • Maintain clear visibility of supplier commitments, constraints, escalation items, and required actions.
Logistics & Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Establish and optimize logistics processes across domestic and international supply chains as applicable.
  • Coordinate shipment planning, delivery timing, receiving readiness, and movement of critical equipment and materials.
  • Communicate logistics status, delivery risks, and material readiness across engineering, manufacturing, operations, quality, and project teams.
  • Support development of scalable sourcing, material planning, supplier management, and logistics processes as manufacturing operations grow.
  • Build strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to improve responsiveness, accountability, and execution.
  • Maintain accurate supply chain documentation, data, and records to support traceability, planning, audits, and continuous improvement.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or a…
