What You'll DoThe Production Control Analyst reports to the Production Control Supervisor and plays a crucial role assisting in driving the manufacturing site, working with cross-functional departments, and ensuring that production processes run smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with customer orders and inventory requirements. This role acts as a bridge between various departments, including production, logistics, and program managers, to optimize production schedules, minimize delays, and maintain cost efficiency.
Duties include reviewing daily and weekly production plans, monitoring and reporting on the execution of plans, future capacity planning, and optimizing the flow of materials and products through the site.
- Develops and maintains detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, sales orders, and inventory levels
- Maintains production schedule for manufacturing, quality testing, and/or development
- Prioritizes production tasks to ensure timely delivery of products
- Adjusts schedules in response to material shortages, machine breakdowns, or changes in demand, including recovery schedules
- Recommends changes in available labor or equipment, as required
- Clearly communicates schedules to production areas and makes agreement on ability to execute
- Leads/participates in material stream meetings, ensuring the availability of raw materials, components, and packaging materials before production begins
- Works with the procurement team to manage inventory levels and prevent shortages or excess stock
- Uses Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems to track material needs and deliveries
- Assesses workforce availability, machine capacity, and production floor constraints
- Balances workloads across different production lines to maximize efficiency
- Plans for overtime, shift changes, or outsourcing if capacity is insufficient
- Provides long term capacity plan
- Identifies bottleneck resources for both equipment and labor
- Evaluates the impact of facility/equipment outages on capacity
- Assess capacity impact forms, adding and/or removing scope as a part of standard Master Schedule change management process
- Tracks production progress in real time and resolves any bottlenecks or delays
- Works closely with supervisors and machine operators to ensure adherence to the schedule
- Analyzes key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production rates, downtime, and efficiency
- Communicates with program management and logistics teams to ensure alignment on priorities
- Provides updates on production status, delays, and any potential risks
- Works with quality control to ensure products meet required standards before shipment
- Recommends master schedule adjustments, as required
- Organizes accurate report information for the management meetings
- Identifies inefficiencies in the production process and suggests improvements
- Implements lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve productivity
- Assists in cost control by optimizing the use of materials, labor, and equipment
- Proves in Business Intelligence concepts through data validation and user testing
