Travel RN - Operating Room - Cardiovascular OR​/CVOR

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a CVOR position requiring at least 2 years of experience, active TN or compact licensure, and prior travel experience.

• Active TN or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and Color Blind Testing - all must be in hand and may not expire within 45 days of assignment start
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience is required - first-time travelers will not be considered
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
• Candidates living within 75 miles of the facility are eligible but will be offered a reduced rate

• Work setting is a hospital CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room)
• Patient ratio is 1:1
• Day shift schedule, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM (5x8-hour shifts)
• On-call required 2 nights per week and every other weekend
• Holiday rotation is required
• Floating is required per facility policy and clinical experience of the worker, in compliance with The Joint Commission standards
• Cerner is the charting system (experience preferred)
• Core cardiovascular procedures include Aortic Aneurysm repair, Atrial Septal Defect repair, CABG, Femoral Cannulation, IABP, MAZE Procedure, Mitral Valve Replacement, PDA, Pericardial Window, and LVAD/RVAD
• Thoracic procedures include Lobe Resection, Mediastinoscopy, Thoracotomy, and VATS
• Required equipment experience includes Cell Saver and Electrosurgical Units
• RN responsibilities center on scrub and/or circulating roles in cardiovascular and related OR cases
• Preferred skills include gynecological procedures (hysterectomy, D&C, laparoscopic-assisted), general surgery, orthopedic and spine cases, vascular procedures, urology, robotic-assisted surgery (Da Vinci Xi, Mako), bariatrics, and ENT
• Preferred equipment experience includes Fiber Optic Light Sources, Hana Table, Steris, and robotic surgical systems
• Orientation modules are completed during the onboarding period and are non-billable; they are tracked through the facility's internal system
• RTO is not permitted during holiday periods, including:
  Valentine's Day, Local Spring Break, Easter, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Local Fall Break, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's - no exceptions
• RTO requests may be discussed directly with the manager after arriving onsite using the facility's RTO form
• Candidates who were previously permanent staff at this campus may not return within 24 months; candidates who worked at a different Covenant Health campus may return after 12 months
• Travel nurses who are related or married may not be assigned to the same unit
