What You'll Do
  • Perform laboratory sample management functions for accountable material
  • Enter data into LIMS and SAP ME (as applicable). Must comply with all Criticality Safety Requirements and facility specific authorization requirements
  • Perform scheduling for accountable material receipt into the laboratory and accountable material return to customer
  • Perform procedure development and modifications as needed for the Analytical Chemistry Organization (ACO) UVA Operations group
  • Prepare for and assist in the completion of biannual “wall to wall” inventories of accountable material
  • Operate and perform sample management procedures for depleted uranium (DU), enriched uranium (EU), classified samples, other accountable materials, etc

Minimum

Job Requirements
  • Associate’s degree in related discipline.
  • In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e., High School diploma; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative).
Preferred

Job Requirements
  • Knowledgeable of basic computer programs such as Word, Excel, and Access
  • Understanding of accountable material tracking systems
  • Working knowledge and understanding in the use of equipment, systems, and/or processes in the area of analytical chemistry laboratory technology/terminology
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in waste management will be an asset
  • Advanced knowledge and skill in enriched uranium tracking within Y-12 and understanding of NMCA concepts
