Engineer III, Nuclear Quality Assurance

Job Description

This position will perform Quality Assurance services in support of X-energy/TRISO-X fuel projects, including documenting, implementing, and maintaining ISO-9001 and ASME NQA-1 requirements. Ensure compliance to applicable NRC requirements for all project activities. Responsible for relevant administrative and technical quality decisions. Applies knowledge, understanding and experience in the functional discipline and its practical application, industry codes, guidelines, and regulations. Actively support the safety culture and Quality Assurance activities associated with X-energy/TRISO-X fuel projects related to supply chain activities, and fuel qualification programs.

• Assists with identifying, establishing, implementing, and maintaining the TRISO-X Quality Management System.
• Assists with development of quality assurance documents and records.
• Administers the TRISO-X Corrective Action program and analyzes data for improvement.
• Analyzes audit findings and non-conformances, implementing process improvements and corrective actions.
• Troubleshoots quality problems and contributes recommendations/solutions.
• Registers, follows-up and tracks Corrective Action Requests.
• Assists collaboration with TRISO-X staff to facilitate supply chain, engineering, and process methodologies.
• Conducts internal quality surveillances and audits.
• Maintains NQA-1 auditor status.
• Executes TRISO-X internal and supplier audits/surveillances.
• Compiles statistical information for quality improvements.
• Facilitates, provides, and encourages appropriate company quality training.
• Implements TRISO-X Quality Assurance Plans and Program.
• Implements and supports evolution of and improvements to the TRISO-X Quality Assurance Program over the life of the program.
• Supports product quality control processes, including process revision and assistance to quality control personnel.
• Participates in control of measurement, inspection, and test equipment, including calibration, tracking and storage.
• Reports to the Director, Quality Assurance TRISO-X Fuel regarding the status of the quality programs and, where appropriate, concerns over significant hazards and risks and recommendations for improvement.
• Plays an active role to ensure safety and quality culture is promoted and continually improved.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
• 5-9 years of relevant Quality Assurance experience.
• Must exhibit high level of motivation, organization, attention to detail, energetic approach to job duties and requirements.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a highly collaborative team environment.
• Must be technically knowledgeable and capable of grasping detailed concepts.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with various types of personnel from equipment operators, and engineers to managers and Directors.
• Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, and implementation and facilitation skills.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite applications.

Work Site Expectations: 5 days a week in office

Travel Expectations: up to 10% as needed

Hours: Standard office schedule are 8:00am-5:00pm ET, Mon-Fri

$100,000- $130,000
