Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Quality Control Specialist to support a highly regulated manufacturing and engineering environment. The Senior Quality Control Specialist will perform first article, in-process, and final inspections of precision components utilizing CMMs and manual inspection equipment while ensuring compliance with engineering and quality requirements.
Responsibilities for the Senior Quality Control Specialist Include:- Perform first article, in-process, and final dimensional inspections of manufactured and procured components.
- Develop and execute Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programs based on engineering drawings and specifications.
- Interpret mechanical drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirements to develop quality control and inspection plans.
- Operate CMMs and manual inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, and optical comparators.
- Evaluate inspection results and complete First Article Inspection (FAI), final inspection, and nonconformance reports.
- Conduct Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and utilize statistical techniques to evaluate measurement trends.
- Maintain CMM equipment, monitor calibration accuracy, and ensure inspection documentation meets quality standards.
- Support training and continuous improvement of inspection processes and quality procedures.
- 5+ years of experience in dimensional inspection and CMM programming.
- Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) / ASME Y14.5.
- Experience inspecting tight-tolerance, high-value precision components.
- Hands‑on experience programming and operating CMMs using Zeiss Calypso.
- Strong experience reading engineering drawings, mechanical specifications, and CAD models.
- Experience with Solid Works and statistical tools such as Minitab preferred.
- Experience with First Article Inspection, nonconformance reporting, and quality control documentation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance.
- Compensation: $110,000 - $140,000 depending on experience
