• Assist in ensuring compliance and implementation of all requirements that directly support the Legacy Facilities & Services Organization including all pertinent laws, regulations, Executive Orders, DOE Orders, DOE Notices, and DOE guidance and requirements for Waste Sampling initiatives for Y-12.
• Serves as the primary contact between the organization and the customer requesting waste sampling work.
• Interfaces with technical support groups such as Engineering, Industrial Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Radcon, Environmental Compliance, Production, Programs, Plant Lab, Projects and others to obtain input to proposed job methods.
• Sequences work activities and develops a job plan to coordinate activities related to execution; and ensures personnel, equipment, and training are obtained, if required to perform the job.
• This position can also serve as a backup supervisor for hourly employees/craft.
• This position supports the Waste Sampling supervisors, coordinators, and specialists in ensuring schedules are developed and met, and that waste sampling work plans provide workers with proper instructions necessary to perform the requested waste sampling work tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
• This position is responsible for ensuring the necessary personnel, materials, and supplies specified are available in a timely manner.
• This position is responsible for ensuring strict application of regulations for environmental, safety, health, security, and plant protection.
• This position also ensures that government (federal, state, and local) regulations, rules, and orders applicable to waste sampling activities are appropriately applied.
• This position will interface with Senior Leadership, as necessary, to accomplish safe, efficient, and compliant execution of waste sampling activities with an end goal of increasing operational availability of production assets, systems, and facilities.
• This position will assist in development of priorities based on guidance from System Health, Production, Projects, BOP managers, Security, and Environmental Compliance.
• This position will be responsible for the overall coordination, implementation, status reporting, and escalation of waste sampling priority and schedule work activities.
• This position will interface with support groups, customers, and all resources critical to completing waste sampling activities for Production, Projects, BOP, Security, and Emergency services, to address material disposition activities and work week schedules.
• This position will gather and review data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and workability feasibility.
• This position will analyze and design sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and establish methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
• Create work control documents: chain of custodies, shipment labels, job hazard analysis (JHAs), submit rad work requests, submit beryllium work permit requests,
• Act as a fill-in/relief supervisor, lead work crews, attend meetings and conduct field observations.k in the laboratory information management system (LIMS).
• You will work in beryllium, RAD and hazardous work environments requiring respirators.
• You will obtain and retain the required training requirements assigned to be efficient and effective at this position.

• Bachelor's degree:
  Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• OR Master's degree:
  Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
• Ten (10) or more years of education and/or relevant experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting.
• In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A (i.e., High School diploma and 3 years nuclear experience).
• MUST be a beryllium worker and be able to wear a respirator.
