• Inspects, tests, repairs, fabricates, alters, and installs a wide variety of electrical power, communication, and instrumental equipment, including controlling devices and wiring systems, electromechanical, technical equipment, radio networks, and power system failure responses.
• Determines necessary corrective action and completes restoration to service.
• Operates machinery, tools and complex test equipment as necessary.

• Requires trade school or apprenticeship training with four years of applicable industrial electrical and electronics experience or equivalent combination.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy clearance is required. Position may require entry into Material Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence‑scope polygraph, pursuant to 10 CFR 709.
• In addition, the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A: (i.e., High School diploma; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative).

• The ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings and data, sketches, wiring diagrams, manufacturer's guides and oral instructions is necessary.
• A working knowledge of the National Electrical Codes and electrical safe work practices is essential.
• Subject to requirements of obtaining an appropriate Commercial Driver's License.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
