This role offers the chance to deepen expertise in trust and estate taxation while delivering high‑quality advisory and compliance services. You will work directly with clients, collaborate with senior partners, and contribute to the firm’s legacy of personalized public accounting solutions.
Responsibilities:- Prepare and review Federal and Illinois trust and estate income tax returns.
- Prepare and review individual, partnership, and S corporation tax returns.
- Research and interpret applicable federal and state tax laws and regulations.
- Provide tax planning and consulting services to individuals and closely held businesses.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive, high‑quality service.
- Collaborate with partners and senior professionals on complex tax matters.
- Review work of junior staff and provide guidance and mentorship.
- Stay current on changes in tax legislation and accounting standards.
Skills:
- Minimum of 4 years recent public accounting experience.
- Extensive experience preparing and reviewing trust and estate tax returns.
- Proficiency with individual, partnership, and S corporation taxation.
- Strong working knowledge of federal and Illinois tax laws.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- CPA license or progress toward licensure preferred.
Skills:
- Familiarity with tax software such as CCH Axcess, Ultra Tax CS, GoSystem Tax RS, or Thomson Reuters platforms.
- Experience with Quick Books and advanced Microsoft Excel functions.
- Knowledge of ASC 740 and other specialized accounting standards.
- Experience serving high‑net‑worth individuals, family offices, or private clients.
- Ability to supervise, mentor, and train junior staff.
