Job Description

Crowe’s Federal Tax Consulting Services (FTCS) practice uses cutting‑edge technology to deliver specialized federal tax consulting. The Senior Associate will support projects in federal credits, focusing on research and development (R&D) tax credits, and will help deliver results, mentor junior staff, and develop technical skills essential to the practice.

Responsibilities
  • Execute project work plans, reviewing data and supporting documentation for R&D tax credits under IRC Sections 41 and 174.
  • Lead technical interviews with client personnel, such as scientists and engineers, to gather key project details.
  • Prepare and review quantitative and qualitative documentation using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Alteryx to support project results.
  • Lead client meetings and internal team discussions to communicate progress and findings.
  • Deliver exceptional client service and foster collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Mentor and train associates through on‑the‑job technical guidance and coaching.
  • Apply strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills with a focus on innovative and efficient solutions.
  • Collaborate with managers and senior leadership to manage risk, execute reviews, and deliver high‑quality outcomes.
  • Work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment to meet deadlines and exceed client expectations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience performing R&D Tax Credit and Section 174 studies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Engineering;
    Master of Science in Taxation (MST) is a plus.
  • CPA, EA, PE or JD preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in the subject matter areas described above is preferred.
