Job Description:
Accounting Consulting Business Development Sales Executive The Accounting Consulting Business Development Sales Executive is responsible for driving new business development and revenue growth through the sale of accounting consulting, finance transformation, outsourced accounting, and ERP consulting solutions. This individual will focus on developing strategic client relationships, identifying business challenges, and positioning tailored professional services solutions that support clients’ finance and accounting operations.
The ideal candidate is a consultative sales professional with experience selling accounting consulting services, managed services, ERP consulting, and/or Net Suite-related solutions. This role requires strong business development skills, executive presence, and the ability to collaborate effectively with leadership and delivery teams to close complex professional services engagements.
Key Responsibilities Business Development & Sales Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities related to accounting consulting, finance and accounting managed services, and ERP consulting solutions
Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients and strategic opportunities
Meet or exceed revenue and sales performance goals
Execute proactive prospecting strategies through networking, referrals, industry events, and strategic outreach
Build relationships with CFOs, controllers, finance executives, accounting leaders, and ERP/technology decision-makers
Attend industry conferences, networking events, and client meetings to expand market presence and generate leads
Consultative Selling & Client Engagement Understand client business challenges and align service offerings to support operational and financial objectives
Position solutions related to accounting consulting, outsourced accounting support, finance transformation, and ERP optimization services
Collaborate with internal subject matter professionals and delivery teams to develop tailored client solutions
Lead client presentations, proposal discussions, and statement of work (SOW) development
Communicate business value and return on investment through a consultative sales approach
Relationship Management & Collaboration Develop and maintain long-term client relationships that drive repeat business and expanded engagements
Partner cross-functionally with leadership, marketing, recruiting, and delivery teams to support successful client outcomes
Maintain relationships with strategic alliance partners and professional networks
Provide market feedback and industry insights to support sales strategy and service development
Sales Strategy & Pipeline Management Develop and execute territory and account-based sales strategies
Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and client demand to identify growth opportunities
Maintain accurate pipeline forecasts and activity tracking within CRM systems
Analyze sales performance metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred7+ years of experience in business development, consultative sales, or account management within professional services, accounting consulting, ERP consulting, or finance and accounting services
Demonstrated success developing and closing complex professional services engagements
