Review bid invitations, drawings, and specifications to accurately define project scope and requirements. Prepare comprehensive material takeoffs for structural steel, miscellaneous metals, and associated components. Develop detailed cost estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted services, including pricing for change orders on existing contracts while ensuring proper cost tracking and accounting.
Interpret and comply with bid instructions and technical specifications to produce competitive, accurate bids. Evaluate historical cost data and current market pricing to validate estimates and maintain cost control. Monitor project budgets and collaborate with the Senior Project Manager to review and obtain approval for any costs exceeding budget thresholds.
Coordinate with internal departments, vendors, and subcontractors to confirm pricing, procurement timelines, and work schedules. Work closely with the Purchasing team to secure competitive vendor and subcontractor quotes. Engage with key project stakeholders to align schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
Participate in pre-bid meetings, scope reviews, and post-bid negotiations. Collaborate with Owners, Architects, Engineers, Contractors, Detailers, and plant and field teams to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and constructability of all drawings and specifications. Review plans and proposals to determine appropriate construction procedures aligned with company objectives.
Maintain thorough and accurate project documentation to protect company interests and ensure compliance. Actively support initiatives that enhance the company’s reputation and long-term relationships with General Contractors.
