Key Responsibilities- Assist in interpreting drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision.
- Perform quantity calculations and determine percentage of completed/installed materials and work.
- Prepare work plans and work packages.
- Assist in field surveying and layout work – elevations, control points, and as‑built data.
- Order and schedule material deliveries to ensure project efficiency.
- Perform material takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Perform basic engineering calculations and technical drafting to support field operations.
- Assist engineers/project managers with data gathering and preparation for submittals and transmittals to customers, vendors, subcontractors, governmental agencies, and internal use.
- Maintain basic project record keeping – daily reports, photographs, RFIs, and memorandums.
- Enter data into the job cost system; review cost reports with job site management.
- Support cost tracking, job costing, and reporting.
- Assist in generating change orders and as‑built data to be reviewed by the project manager.
- Bachelor’s degree in a construction‑related field (Engineering or Construction Management).
- 1–2 years of combined experience in heavy/civil projects (internship experience preferred).
- Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.
- Passion for heavy civil construction and problem‑solving.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Team‑oriented but able to work independently when needed.
- Willingness to travel regionally for project assignments.
- Authorized to work in the United States; no sponsorship required.
