Salary Range: $70,000.00 To $ Annually
Global Application Engineer SummaryAt Miraclon, Application Engineering plays a vital role connecting our innovation programs to meet the needs of our customers. This position falls within the Global Product Support function and reports to the Global Application Engineering Manager. The primary focus of this position is to facilitate the launch of new products, support customer application testing, and the execution of technical marketing activities.
YourRole
- Responsible for application engineering test support, representing customer use, to drive New Product Introductions (NPI) in collaboration with in-house R&D innovation programs. This includes providing voice-of-customer input during development and performing internal testing.
- Additional responsibilities include product support for customer field escalations, creation of technical procedure documentation, marcomm support, and technical training for internal/external audiences.
- Own relevant lab space, equipment upkeep, and equipment upgrades to ensure all testing is reliable and relevant to customer use-case.
- Evaluate and test new prototype technology across all Miraclon technology platforms: software, flexographic plates, imagers, and plate processing equipment.
- Tasked with development of application-specific lab test methods, utilizing designed experiments and statistical analysis to ensure validity of test methods.
- Design, improve, and document application engineering processes with a focus on continuous improvement and best practices.
- Effectively collaborate cross-functionally with sales, regional service, marketing, and R&D.
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field (Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or similar) with 3+ years of industry experience; or
- Associate degree in a related field with 5+ years of industry experience.
- Experience in the graphic arts/printing industry is ideal but not required.
- Desired expertise in application engineering, customer technical service, product development, and technical sales.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams.
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
- Competency in Microsoft Office and basic statistical analysis.
- Comfortable working safely in a laboratory setting, experienced with analytical and processing equipment.
- Ability to travel up to 10-25% domestically with some international.
