About Corrie's House

Corrie’s House is an innovative non profit residential program providing crisis and long term residential housing with wrap‑around services for up to six youth, ages 12-17, who are at risk or have experienced sexual exploitation or trafficking. Located in a residential neighborhood in Oakdale, we support youth directly or in partnership with community providers with individual and group therapy, improved health, life skills, job skills, spirituality, employment, and education that empowers youth to live a renewed life that is free from exploitation.

Our trauma‑informed, person‑centered, strengths‑based approach supports youth through individualized support and community connection.

Position Summary

Youth Advocates are at the heart of our mission. They build meaningful relationships with youth, provide daily support and supervision, respond to crises, facilitate life skills development, and help create a safe, healing environment where young people can thrive.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide supervision of participants on‑site at Corrie’s House and/or in the community to ensure the safety and well‑being of youth participants.
  • Maintain clear communication with program staff to facilitate consistent, appropriate responses to youth behavior.
  • Assist in household disputes and conflict resolution between participants in order to foster a safe, positive living environment.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed; respond to crisis situations following outlined procedures including proper notification, documentation, and programmatic follow up.
  • Monitor progress toward established goals and action steps outlined in the Empowered Living Plan to assist youth participants to move toward stabilization, independent living, and self‑sufficiency.
  • Maintain the daily routine, supervise chores, assist in meal planning and preparation, assist with light cleaning and other household tasks as indicated.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations per DHS license, including administration of medications, case note documentation, safety planning, room checks, etc.
  • Ensure that record keeping and reporting systems are accurately maintained; complete progress notes and program‑related reporting as required.
  • Engage youth in positive peer relations, group building, recreational and leisure time activities and outings.
  • Develop and implement support groups and group activities with input from youth, Corrie’s House team members, and community partners.
  • Utilize Corrie’s House vehicle and personal vehicle, in good working order, to transport youth to appointments and activities as indicated.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all client information.
  • Provide services applying strengths‑based, Positive Youth Development, harm reduction and person‑centered approaches to young people who are exploited or at risk of exploitation.
  • Develop healthy and helpful relationships with exploited and street youth while maintaining professional boundaries; demonstrate kindly assertiveness in setting limits with youth.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings to discuss Corrie’s House participants and provide progress updates; attend Corrie’s House staff and program meetings, quarterly reviews and other training as indicated.
  • Participate in training and professional development sufficient for the provision of best practice services for youth who have been sexually exploited.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Corrie’s House Program Director, Program Manager, or Executive Director.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience working with youth or young adults facing significant life challenges
  • Passion for supporting survivors of exploitation and trafficking
  • Strong communication, relationship‑building, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in crisis situations
  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services field or equivalent experience preferred
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; must pass a background check
