Base Salary: $90,000 – $100,000

On‑Target Earnings (OTE): $450,000 – $600,000+ (Uncapped)

About the Role

Headquartered in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City, Utah, the Bank was named a Top SBA Lender in the Nation in 2023 and is a leading nationwide lender specializing in SBA 7(a), SBA 504, USDA B&I, Express Loans, Asset‑Based Lending (ABL), Commercial Real Estate, and Commercial Construction loans.

With over $1 billion in SBA loans funded last year and a projected $1.35 billion in SBA production this year, the Bank continues to expand its national footprint. The organization currently employs 40 Business Development Officers across the country and is actively seeking top‑producing hunters to join its growing team.

The Bank lends across diverse industries including agriculture, real estate, business acquisitions, hospitality, gas stations, and more.

Position Summary

The Business Development Officer (BDO) is responsible for the full lifecycle management of SBA client relationships, including business development, underwriting collaboration, credit presentation, and relationship management. This is a high‑production role designed for experienced SBA originators who are true hunters with an established referral network and a track record of exceeding $20MM+ in annual production.

Key Respondsibilities
  • Originate SBA 7(a), SBA 504, USDA B&I, Express Loans, Equipment Leasing, and Asset‑Based Lending transactions nationwide
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with referral partners, brokers, and small business owners
  • Generate new business through networking, referrals, and proactive outreach
  • Expand market penetration within assigned national territories
  • Present complete financing packages to underwriting and Credit Committee
  • Structure deals, analyze financial statements, assess risk, and present funding solutions
  • Secure signed commitments and coordinate closings with Operations
  • Achieve and exceed annual production goals
  • Actively utilize Salesforce and other loan origination systems to manage pipeline and deal flow
  • Collaborate with the Chief Business Development Officer and Marketing team on sales strategy
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 4–5 years of direct experience selling SBA 7(a) and SBA 504 loans
  • Minimum 5+ years of financial services sales experience
  • Proven annual production of $20MM+ for the past three consecutive years
  • Strong working knowledge of SBA loan programs, structuring, and credit analysis
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and cash flow
  • Demonstrated success serving the financial needs of small business owners
  • Strong hunter mentality with ability to generate new business independently
  • Established referral network preferred
  • Exceptional communication, relationship management, and B2B sales skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

While large institutions may produce similar volume, this opportunity is tailored for professionals who combine production strength with proactive business development.

Compensation and Growth
  • Competitive base salary ($90K–$100K)
