Vaco is hiring a Purchasing Manager

Location: Pompano Beach, FL

Compensation: $65-$75/annually

Responsible for all purchasing activities and establishes strategic purchasing processes and procedures for purchasing materials, products, and services. Researches the best supplier to utilize, negotiates terms/pricing, logistics and ensures items purchased are compliant with organization’s requirements as well as Government standards.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business or supply chain management or relevant experience.
  • Five years of experience as a buyer or manager in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge of ERP systems.
Basic Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Represent company in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, selling, and distributing materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies.
  • Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales.
  • Maintain relationship with vendors or suppliers and negotiate contracts and secure advantageous terms for major purchases.
  • Monitor suppliers' activities to assess performance in meeting quality or delivery requirements.
  • Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
  • Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
  • Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials.
  • Monitor upcoming levels of demand.
  • Determine optimal inventory levels for purchased product based on minimum order quantities, re-order points, lead time, safety stock, and cost.
  • Inspect and ensure stock is adequate to meet demand requirements.
  • Create purchase orders to replenish stock avoiding insufficiencies or excessive surplus.
  • Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability in order to determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
  • Track shipments and address any delays.
  • Create and maintain vendor/supplier profiles up to date.
  • ERP Item Management.
  • Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers.
  • Coordinate supplier corrective action/root cause analysis for identified problems. Maintain records regarding supplier performance.
