Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health
, a subsidiary of UHS, is a 182-bed treatment facility located in Fort Lauderdale, FL that specializes in the treatment of substance abuse and mental health issues for youth, adults and seniors. Our team in psychiatry, medicine, nursing, social services, education and activity therapy is committed to providing compassionate, comprehensive care that fits the needs of each patient and their family and community.
We offer a continuum of mental health and addiction services through an integrated system of inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and ECT programs. Our goal is to provide the highest quality treatment to help patients achieve good health and long-term sobriety. Fort Lauderdale BH is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Patient Access Registrar - PD Saturday, 1 - 12 Hour shift weekly

QualificationsEducation/Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associate or higher degree preferred
Experience:
- Minimum one (1) year business office experience preferred in health care/insurance verification and collections with computer knowledge and data entry skills
- One (1) year of related experience with knowledge of patient care techniques regarding co-occurring, mentally ill, or chemically dependent patients with understanding of co-occurring disorders, preferred
Licensure/Certification:
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required or equivalent
- Current Florida Driver's License (may be required to drive company van on occasion)
- Current CPR Certification
- Must pass competency exams within 90 days of hire. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
Knowledge and
Skills:
- Well organized
- Works independently
- Ability to make decisions under pressure and manage stress appropriately
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Good customer service skills
- Understands and practices effective motivational techniques
- Demonstrates consistent ability to problem-solve and communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrates regular, required attendance
- Effectively interacts with patients, peers and families
