POSITION GOAL
Ensure continuous availability of all technology assets for the assigned location by providing technical support of District-owned computer hardware, software, networks, and servers, focusing on customer concerns, needs, issues, training, and guidance.
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIESProvide technical support to ensure a stable and responsive technology environment at the assigned location. Typical duties include diagnosing hardware and software issues, assisting users, and coordinating with district technology staff as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE- A standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) testing program.
- A minimum of four (4) years of experience in supporting computer systems related to a digital environment.
- OR
- An earned associate degree from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in supporting computer systems related to a digital environment.
- AND
- Proficiency in the following: basic hardware and software troubleshooting; knowledge of Windows, Mac, and iOS operating systems; installing and maintaining software applications; managing and maintaining computer network systems including Virtual and Local Area Networks; supporting enterprise applications (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations, electronic mail, cloud storage, and related applications); effective communication; and computer skills as required for the position.
- Bilingual skills.
The Technology Support Specialist I & II roles are treated as one job for progression purposes. The Technology Support Specialist I shall be promoted to Technology Support Specialist II after two (2) years of service in the department/school, contingent on performance evaluation.
SIGNIFICANT CONTACTSCollaborates with customers at the assigned location and with district-level technology support staff to maintain an effective, stable, and consistent digital environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSLight work:
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 10 pounds of force frequently as needed to move objects.
Salary and benefits are paid according to the District’s approved compensation plan. The length of the work year and hours of employment are those established by the School Board.
