Responsibilities

RN Supervisor needed - 7am – 7:30pm or 7pm – 7:30am

Education/Training

• Current license to practice in Florida
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Able to communicate effectively in English through written and verbal means
• Ability to effectively supervise and/or direct the implementation of individualized nursing care
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluation of situations and/or making nursing decisions

Experience

• A minimum of two (2) years in a Psychiatric Behavioral Health Center environment or health-care facility treating mentally ill or chemically dependent patients, with understanding of co-occurring disorders and cultural linguistic diversity amongst patients
• Must have supervisory experience

Licensure/Certification

• Current Florida State Registered Nurse License
• Current Florida Driver's License
• Current CPR certification
• Must pass a medication administration exam and complete a basic developmental competency exam

Knowledge and Skills

• Knowledge of appropriate nursing assessment, diagnoses, and interventions with patients
• Knowledge of milieu management
• Ability to direct subordinates in the performance of their duties; ability to accurately administer medication and monitor side effects
• Ability to safely implement special treatment procedures
• Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families
• Skill in preparing and maintaining appropriate medical record documentation
• Sensitivity and awareness of diverse cultures and their practices
