Job Description:
- Ensure proper accounting and reporting of assigned government grants
- Prepare monthly government contract invoices and submit them by the contract deadline
- Process subcontractor invoices, including review and submission to Accounts Payable
- Verify that contract line items are balanced to the general ledger for both monthly and year-to-date totals, on a monthly basis
- Review GL for coding accuracy; create correct coding or remove unallowable expenses as needed
- Reconcile and coordinate accounts receivable balances with city, state, and federal agencies
- Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files by cost center and reconciling accounts
- Maintain accrual expenses, requesting disbursement and reconciling accounts
- Perform all monthly balance sheets and other selected account reconciliations
- Prepare, coordinate, and manage consolidated internal and external financial reports
- Assist with the preparation of budgets for foundations, and customized reports for government funding
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
- Able to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences
- Payroll experience will be an asset but not required
