Senior Accounting Manager

Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to lead core accounting operations and support accurate, timely financial reporting in Oakland, California. This role oversees critical close activities, maintains integrity across the general ledger, and partners with internal and external stakeholders during audit processes. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and a hands-on approach to improving reporting accuracy and control.

Responsibilities:

+ Lead accounting team and oversee AP, AR, payroll, and GL operations

+ Manage close processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting

+ Ensure team coverage across functions for continuity

+ Improve workflows, strengthen controls, and drive process automation

+ Maintain procedures, documentation, and cross-training programs

+ Support financial reporting, compliance, and audit/tax activities

+ Partner with stakeholders and leadership on financial needs

+ Contribute to system improvements, special projects, and scaling the function

Requirements

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field

+ 7+ years of accounting experience with 2-3 years in a leadership role

+ Strong understanding of AP, AR, payroll, general ledger, and reporting

+

Experience with process documentation and internal controls

+ Proficient in accounting systems and Excel

+ Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

+ Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

+ Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
