Staff Accountant

A growing, fast-paced organization is seeking an Interim Staff Accountant to support general ledger accounting and month‑end close activities. This role will be a key contributor to maintaining and improving accounting processes in a dynamic environment. The position will also support cross‑functional initiatives and process improvements, including system implementations and internal controls development.

• Prepare monthly and quarterly accruals in collaboration with internal stakeholders and budget owners
• Maintain schedules and supporting documentation for prepaid expenses
• Post journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Assist with month‑end close and related accounting processes
• Support system implementation projects and process improvements within the procure‑to‑pay cycle
• Provide documentation and support for external audits (quarterly and annual)
• Partner cross‑functionally and assist with ad hoc reporting and projects as needed

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required
• 1–3 years of accounting experience; public accounting experience is a plus
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Solid analytical and problem‑solving skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage and organize large amounts of data efficiently
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, evolving environment
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting systems (e.g., ERP platforms such as Net Suite or SAP preferred)
• CPA or progress toward certification is a plus
