Staff Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a well-established organization to hire a Staff Accountant on a contract basis. This opportunity is ideal for a professional who is ready to build on existing accounting skills in a collaborative environment, with exposure to core accounting functions and nonprofit operations.

What You'll Do:
  • Perform bank, account, and general ledger reconciliations
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing and payment application
  • Assist with month-end close, including journal entries and account tie-outs
  • Maintain and update financial records and documentation
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies and variances
  • Support cash applications and track incoming/outgoing payments
  • Assist with data cleanup and organization of financial records
  • Partner with internal teams to resolve accounting issues
  • Use Excel for reporting, reconciliations, and data analysis
What You Bring:
  • Experience with account reconciliations and financial recordkeeping
  • Knowledge of AP/AR processes
  • Ability to complete bank reconciliations independently
  • Intermediate Excel skills (formulas, sorting, filtering, reporting)
  • 2+ years of similar accounting experience
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Nice to Have:
  • Nonprofit or mission-driven organization experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Experience with Sage, Net Suite, or similar ERP systems
