Senior Accountant - Oakland, California

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join one of our clients in Oakland, California. This role is 100% in-office.

Employment Type: Temp to Perm

Pay Details: $45.00 to $53.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing processes, reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing, collections, and vendor payments.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for management.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax planning and filings.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff.
  • Stay updated on accounting regulations and industry best practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a proven track record as a Senior Accountant.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Experience with a medium to large ERP is preferred.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with the manufacturing industry is a plus.
