About the Role
The role involves reviewing complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations across a variety of industries, while building and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
Responsibilities
- Review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations across a variety of industries.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients by providing planning, consulting, and industry expertise.
- Ensure timely completion of client deliverables while adhering to budget and project timelines.
- Respond to and prepare correspondence with tax authorities.
- Manage, train, mentor, and develop staff members on tax engagements and performance reviews.
- Stay current on legislative and regulatory tax developments and assist clients in responding to changes in tax law.
- Actively pursue ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Establish and work toward individual goals that align with departmental and firm objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or a related field required.
- CPA certification required.
- 5+ years of public accounting experience required.
Required Skills
- Strong tax preparation and review experience required.
- Experience serving clients across diverse industries preferred.
- Proficiency with tax research tools (RIA, CCH, etc.) and Pro System fx software preferred.
- Ability and willingness to work extended hours during busy season.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and work ethic.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Adaptable with strong multitasking and time management abilities.
- Willingness to travel locally and regionally for client engagements as needed.
- Strong desire for continuous learning and career advancement.
Preferred Skills
- Experience serving clients across diverse industries preferred.
- Proficiency with tax research tools (RIA, CCH, etc.) and Pro System fx software preferred.
Pay range and compensation package
Experience Level: Staff to Manager Level (5+ years)
