Provide routine and specialized clerical and administrative support for a non-clinical/support unit
Support SEBMG hospitalists and other SEBMG inpatient clinicians
Liaise between the hospital and Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation for admitted and discharged patients
Coordinate with outside healthcare clinics to support patient needs
Execute clerical duties and prioritize information and requests
Answer phones and triage calls and requests
Build confidence and cooperation with staff, physicians, and healthcare providers through competent performance and communication
Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety
Orient new staff and clinicians to the department/unit when required
Support hospitalist programs primarily at Delta Medical Center and Summit Medical Center, with occasional shifts at Eden Medical Center and Alta Bates Medical Center
Work 8-hour shifts with start times varying from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- 1-year recent relevant experience
- Medical Assistant or health care administrative/clinical experience preferred
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook), EPIC, and related information systems
- Ability to interpret data and instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies and procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an environment with interruptions
- Ability to identify, evaluate, and resolve standard problems using established solutions
- Ability to ensure patient protected health information (PHI) privacy
- Ability to collaborate with peers and staff members
- Sound judgment and developed administrative skills
- Availability for mandatory weekday training for at least 2–4 weeks
- Weekend and holiday training/coverage may be required as needed
- Ability to work variable Monday–Friday schedules and weekends as needed
Demonstrates strong clerical and administrative support capabilities, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EPIC. Exhibits effective communication, time management, and organizational skills while ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
