The Associate, Portfolio Execution will support commercial activities related to build-transfer agreement (“BTA”) contracting for utility-scale energy generating assets. Working as a member of the Portfolio Execution team, this role focuses on providing critical organizational, analytical, and cross-functional support to help secure and execute high-value commercial agreements for RWE’s pipeline of energy projects. This is an ideal role for a detail-oriented early professional looking to build a career in the energy sector.
Role Responsibilities:- Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate regularly with multidisciplinary internal teams—including technical, financial, legal, and construction groups to track project deliverables and maintain clear lines of communication
- Project Tracking & Organization
- Help manage Requests for Proposals, data rooms, and documentation for multiple projects, ensuring all commercial and development files are highly organized and up to date
- Content & Proposal Preparation
- Produce high-quality, client-facing materials, including bid proposals, document & deliverable trackers, and presentation decks to support fast-moving commercial timelines
- Market & Policy Research
- Conduct routine research and analysis on utility integrated resource plans, state policy initiatives, and industry trade publications to help identify new business opportunities and keep the team informed on BTA market activity
- Presentation Support
- Assist in drafting clear, analytical presentations for leadership and executive teams seeking approval for bids and transactions
- Commercial Support
- Assist senior team members throughout the lifecycle of BTA negotiations by capturing action items, analyzing project economics, and identifying potential risks
- Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree a plus; a concentration in business, economics, engineering, environmental studies, or a related field is a plus
- 0 years of professional experience
- Prior internship or professional experience in the energy, renewables, utilities, clean-tech, or infrastructure sectors is highly preferred
- Meticulous organizational skills with a proven track record of managing multiple tasks, meeting deadlines, and delivering error-free work products
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse internal teams and build relationships with external stakeholders
- Solid foundational analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to understand basic financial concepts and project economic drivers
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (specifically Excel and PowerPoint) and collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams
- A motivated self-starter and coachable team player who responds well to direction, possesses a strong desire to learn about the renewables space, and adapts easily to new challenges

Pay range:The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois, California, or New York is $90,000 - $120,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations.
