This approach enables extremely fast erection times. By utilizing factory-built, prefabricated panelized quantum components, we significantly reduce on-site labor costs and construction timelines, ensuring higher quality control at lower costs.

We're looking for a talented Director of Construction to lead our overall construction operations. You'll play a pivotal role in creating a highly functional and harmonious work environment as we embark on building mass-timber multifamily buildings throughout California and beyond. What

You’ll Do

As the Director of Construction, you will be responsible for leading and managing all construction operations, from conceptual design through project completion, for multiple simultaneous mid‑rise and high‑rise residential and mixed‑use projects. You will:

  • Lead and optimize operations:
    Drive the overall production of the Construction Operations Department, ensuring seamless collaboration with internal teams and external consultants.
  • Build and mentor high‑performing teams:
    Recruit, train, assign, supervise, and advise construction personnel to foster a highly functional and harmonious workplace. Identify and bring in top talent ("A‑players") to fill open positions.
  • Ensure project success:
    Create and manage teams to consistently meet project schedules, adhere to budgets, and deliver exceptional quality and quantity of work.
  • Drive continuous improvement:
    Update job descriptions, conduct team performance reviews, and provide recommendations for changes, including competitive compensation and salary adjustments.
  • Business development:
    Continue growth in acquiring new clients, networking and creating partnerships. Develop client‑based presentations that secure new work.
  • Strategic planning:
    Forecast future workload and staffing needs, overseeing estimating to track prospective projects and resource requirements.
  • Develop and manage project schedules:
    Create comprehensive schedules that meticulously account for lead times, approval cycles, procurement, and field production, ensuring seamless alignment with client expectations for maximum satisfaction.
  • Provide technical expertise:
    Offer technical input and lead business development functions, working collaboratively with teams.
  • Ensure accountability:
    Maintain accountability for meeting deadlines, performing within budget, and delivering the highest quality results on all projects.
  • Collaborate and communicate:
    Actively participate in Operations, Project Master Action List, Design, Customer, and Consultant meetings as scheduled or required.
  • Proactive problem‑solving:
    Continuously identify and resolve project issues proactively with your team.
What You’ll Bring
  • Experience:

    10+ years of professional experience in high‑quality residential and commercial projects.
  • Design & permitting expertise:
    Comprehensive knowledge and experience across schematic design, design development, permitting, and construction documentation.
  • Code & compliance knowledge:
    Strong understanding and experience working with local building codes, accessibility requirements, zoning, and other applicable laws.
  • Financial acumen:
    Solid understanding of project budgeting and scheduling, with the ability to collaborate effectively with consultants, construction division, and development division to ensure project milestones are met and deliverables are on time and complete.
