Construction Project Manager; Public Works

Overview

Large public works project – Construction Project Manager.

Location:

Hayward, CA. Salary: $130,000–$140,000 per year. An established GC based out of Oakland, CA is looking to add a seasoned Construction Project Manager to their growing team. Experience with public works projects is important. Project scope typically $5–$12 million.

• Manage projects from award through closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules; monitor budgets, forecasting, and cost controls.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and self-perform crews.
• Ensure project compliance with contract documents and specifications.
• Manage procurement and material tracking.
• Serve as primary point of contact for owners, municipal agencies, inspectors, engineers, and consultants; attend public meetings and progress meetings; maintain professional client relationships.
• Prepare budget updates, pay applications, cost projections, change order pricing, monthly reporting; track labor productivity and equipment utilization.
• Support field operations and problem resolution with field personnel.
• Ensure safety and compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.

• Public works expertise; knowledge of public bidding procedures, government contract administration, prevailing wage, change orders, RFIs and submittals, public agency inspections, utility coordination, stormwater, permit processes, ADA and environmental compliance standards.
• Strong construction knowledge in grading and paving, concrete structures, architectural buildouts, traffic control, site logistics.
• Scheduling and sequencing; estimating and cost control; CPM scheduling software (Procore, Primavera P6).
• Experience using Procore and Primavera P6.
