CONSTRUCTION PROJECT ENGINEER WITH K-14 EXPERIENCE
CBMG is a design and construction management firm headquartered in Downtown Oakland, California. We specialize in education, healthcare, specialty retail, and hospitality.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Attend on-site meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
- Prepare RFI, submittal, and change order logs.
- Coordinate testing and inspections.
- Implement project schedules and monitor construction budget.
- Cost estimating.
- Produce project and cost reports.
- Field QA/QC inspections.
- Work with local government agencies and DSA.
- Punch list and closeout process.
- Provide administrative and technical support to project manager(s).
- Review submittals from contractors to ensure specification requirements are met.
- Obtain responses to requests for clarification from contractors and keep a log of such requests.
- Negotiate with contractors to achieve a fair and reasonable cost for change orders and review their impact on the project.
- Review payment applications and perform fiscal management of project resources.
- Coordinate district delivery of related fixtures, furniture, and equipment.
- Perform other construction management functions as assigned.
- Minimum of 4 years of program/project and construction management or architectural construction administration experience.
- 4‑year degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field.
- Self‑directed and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with limited supervision.
- Effective organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Computer skills:
Primavera P6 and Procore. - Experience with education sector clients.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Client‑oriented and good with people.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines and shift focus quickly.
- Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Comfortable with regular visits to construction work sites.
- Ability to work in Sonoma County.
