Position Overview
TCA Architects is seeking an experienced Architectural Project Manager to join our Oakland studio. This role partners closely with the Studio Director to lead project teams from schematic design through construction administration.
You will serve as a key technical and managerial leader-ensuring design intent, documentation quality, schedule adherence, and budget control-while mentoring junior staff and coordinating multidisciplinary consultants.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead architectural project teams through all phases: schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration
- Manage production and quality of contract documents, including drawing and specification review
- Collaborate with the Studio Director, designers, and internal Quality Control team
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, billing, and additional service requests
- Coordinate and manage consultants and external partners
- Participate in construction administration and field coordination
- Train, mentor, and support documentation team members
- Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and firm design practices
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager on multifamily projects
- Demonstrated experience with Type I and Type V construction
- Proficiency in Revit required
- Construction administration experience preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture (required)
- California Architectural License (preferred)
- Based in TCA's downtown Oakland office
- Hybrid schedule: 3-4 days in office, Fridays remote
- Flexible schedule with half-day Fridays available
Salary Range: $100,000 - $140,000 (DOE)
