OPEN POSITION: SENIOR JOB CAPTAIN/PROJECT MANAGER - COMMERCIAL INTERIORS, Oakland, CA
dsk architects was established in 2006 with a focus on education and healthcare. In 2020, we expanded our services to include commercial interiors. Today, our team of 36 staff members, including 12 licensed architects, shared among our Oakland, San Francisco, San Luis Obispo, and Los Angeles offices, dsk architects offers the camaraderie of a small studio with the benefits and resources of an established mid-size firm.

As a member of the dsk team, you will interact with clients, conduct site visits, grow new skill sets (or polish existing ones), and see your work realized in construction – all with the support and guidance from our seasoned staff.
JOB DESCRIPTIONWe are seeking an experienced Senior Job Captain / Project Manager to join our Commercial Interiors team. This position will work closely with the Project Director/Project Architect and take a leading role in the day-to-day technical execution and coordination of projects, with a primary focus on producing high-quality construction documents and supporting the successful delivery of projects from design through construction within budget and on schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS
- Architecture degree preferred.
- 7+ years of professional architectural experience, preferably with commercial interiors, workplace, or tenant improvement projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience developing quality Construction Documents for commercial interiors or tenant improvement.
- Knowledge of building codes, other building regulations, accessibility, and experience with regulatory agencies
- Experience with specification review and coordination.
- Experience with consultant coordination and in-house staff mentorship/oversight
- Experience with building systems, including use of both standard details and custom detailing.
- Savvy software skills, (Autodesk, Office, Adobe)
- Professional AutoCAD experience required.
- Professional Revit experience preferred but not required
