This is an INTERNAL opportunity only.

All staff for Summer Learning Programs will report in person to a specific campus location.

This is a voluntary summer position.

* Because the summer session crosses the fiscal year, summer employees will have to be sure to reflect their summer work days in July as "non scheduled days" for their 26-27 work calendar. The summer office will support this process once the 26-27 Work Calendars go live.

Position purpose:

To lead the Springboard Summer program by coaching teachers, partnering with family members, and helping scholars reach their reading growth.

Who we're looking for:

Responsibilities:

Lead programming

* Set a positive, achievement-driven culture with a focus on student reading goals and family collaboration.

* Communicate program expectations and results regularly with families, teachers, and the Springboard team.

* Coordinate pre-programming preparation including book distribution, family orientation, home visits, class rostering.

* Collaborate with Springboard colleagues to proactively plan for success and address challenges.

* Plan the end-of-program Learning Bonus Celebration.

Coach and manage Teachers

* Meet with each teacher weekly, to review lesson plans and provide feedback.

* Join teachers' instruction times to coach and provide feedback.

* Lead weekly Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings to prepare teachers for family workshops and high-quality instruction.

* Provide your staff with tech support for G Suite, to ensure smooth implementation of instruction and family workshops.

* Co-plan and lead school-based professional development on family engagement and assessment and data driven instruction. Conduct make-up PD for Teachers as needed.

Build partnerships with family members

* Support enrollment and virtual home visits for 100% completion.

* Lead virtual family orientations; provide multiple opportunities for families to attend.

* Develop family engagement strategy, to ensure at least 90% of families attend all workshops; conduct make-up workshops as needed.

* Collaborate with Family Engagement Coordinator to execute family outreach plans; ensure families are contacted when students are not participatory or when families miss workshops.

* Distribute goal letters, action plan letters, and award letters to families.

Utilize data to meet performance metrics

* Ensure teachers set reading goals with 100% of scholars and families before the start of program.

* Participate in weekly solutions-oriented meetings to review data and address challenges:
School-Wide Action Plan meetings, All-Staff meetings, 1:1 check-ins with support staff.

* Ensure every scholar receives a high-quality Action Plan.

* Keep complete and timely data on all aspects of programming (i.e. enrollment, student attendance, workshop attendance).

* Participate in an end of programming debrief with Springboard leaders.

Time Commitment and Compensation:

* The Site Leader position is 40 hours of work per week for 5 weeks. (hourly per diem)

* Site leaders will attend or co-facilitate up to 14 hours of virtual pre-program professional development and complete approx 20 hours of program coordination before the start and after the end of the program.

* Your summer position is for 24 days; 7.5 hours per day; at your hourly per diem rate.

* Site Leaders may submit OUSD in-service forms for facilitation/participation in any PD sessions prior to beginning of summer program.
