This is a hybrid leadership and direct service role supporting a unique, youth-designed charter school in East Oakland. You’ll serve as both the primary Resource Specialist for high school students and the lead coordinator for all 504 Plans and special education compliance. The role is ideal for an experienced Special Education professional who thrives in alternative education environments and is excited to make a measurable difference through both teaching and systems-level coordination.

What

You’ll Do
  • Deliver push-in and pull-out instruction aligned to IEP goals for high school students
  • Coordinate and lead IEP, 504, assessment, and Student Support Team (SST) meetings
  • Serve as lead site contact for 504 Plan coordination and compliance
  • Monitor SEIS and ensure timely compliance documentation and reporting
  • Oversee related services (OT, speech, assistive technology, etc.)
  • Provide teacher training and co-coaching on accommodations and differentiation

    Engage families in transition planning and college/career readiness
  • Support assessments, data tracking, and general campus needs as part of the school leadership team
Experience You’ll Need
  • Valid California Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Credential
  • 2+ years of experience working with students with special needs, ideally in urban or alternative settings
  • Demonstrated experience with IEP and 504 coordination, compliance systems, and SEIS
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and coaching skills
  • Spanish fluency a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree required;
    Master’s preferred
