Job DescriptionClassroom Teacher on Special Assignment. Compensation follows the 10‑month teacher schedule with an additional stipend.
We seek passionate, equity‑focused educators to create joyful, healing, and liberatory learning spaces for Oakland students, families, and communities.
Responsibilities- Teach core TK‑12 curriculum in alignment with district standards.
- Build caring relationships with students and families to support learning.
- Maintain high expectations for all students through an asset‑based approach.
- Collaborate with colleagues, families, and students to create equitable conditions.
- Engage in ongoing professional learning communities and instructional improvement.
- Participate in professional development, curriculum planning, and reflective practice.
- Adhere to district policies, immunization or testing requirements, and health guidelines.
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree, be eligible for employment in the US, and pass a criminal background check. A Preliminary or Clear California teaching credential authorizing instruction in core TK‑12 curriculum is required.
