Teachers; Grades 1-5

Francophone Charter School of Oakland seeks Teachers (Grades 1-5) to work at our Oakland, CA campus.

Teaching occurs in French; all other communications are in English. Teachers will guide students through curriculum aligned with state standards, including Common Core, by employing language immersion teaching practices and ensuring each student meets educational goals.

• Teach French, Math, Science, Social Studies, Visual & Performing Arts, and Social‑Emotional Learning.
• Manage student behavior, including participation in school‑wide PBIS systems and culture initiatives.
• Proctor relevant assessments.
• Collaborate with other teachers in learning communities focused on problem‑solving, data analysis, knowledge sharing, program development, and mutual support.
• Communicate with families through newsletters, parent‑teacher conferences, and individual meetings.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community partners.
• Perform other duties as assigned (may involve mentoring, supporting extra‑curricular activities, combined classes, or related responsibilities).
• Undergo background checks if required.

• Bachelor's degree in any field and fluency in French.
• Ability to plan and implement appropriate instructional and learning strategies, assessed through a sample lesson plan or model lesson video.
• Must hold or be eligible for one of the following:
  Clear CA teaching credential, Preliminary CA teaching credential, or eligibility for these credentials without additional coursework or examinations.
• Salary range: $79,803 – $85,253 per year.
